Bahá’í International Community
The Bahá’í Community of Canada is part of a global community that shares a common vision and commitment to build a better society based on world peace, the oneness of humanity, the elimination of the extremes of wealth and poverty, the equality of women and men, and a commitment to serve all of humanity. Since 1949 the Bahá'í International Community has maintained consultative status at the United Nations and is involved in more than 2000 development initiatives worldwide. On a global scale Bahá’í communities are involved with hundreds of social and economic development activities, such as operating small clinics on the Honduran coast, tutorial schools in Africa, or women's literacy programs in rural India. The vast majority of these activities are designed and managed by their respective national or regional Bahá’í administrative agencies.
